Many companies have employee assistance programs to benefit their employees. I have six years of full time experience in working for EAP programs and also provide EAP services for several companies in my practice. The services are confidential and the employer may not even know who uses the service and for what type of problem. Usually they cover the employee and all members of their household.  The EAP usually gives you a time frame and a number of visits for the services they will pay for. For example 3 visits between 1/1/15 - 4/1/15.  The employee pays nothing as this 
is a benefit their employer provides.
